Meet the Family

Maria Bagley is a resident of Concord, California. She is a dedicated mother to four wonderful children, and a proud “Bebe” to one grandbaby. Maria brings extensive professional experience across multiple sectors: 22 years in public finance, private-sector banking in Capital Markets, and small business ownership (on Clayton Road – District 1) while remaining deeply rooted in her community through volunteer work and civic engagement. Now Maria is ready to represent District 1 on the Concord City Council.

Maria knows what makes Concord worth fighting for because she has lived it: building a safe space where her family can grow and thrive, being intentional about creating community connections, supporting local youth programs, and volunteering in the community wherever she feels she can make a difference.

A Local Perspective, Earned Through Years of Experience

She understands the everyday concerns District 1 residents are facing: housing costs, traffic, public safety, aging infrastructure, and the desire for a City Council that truly represents them. Maria believes in fighting for those who may not feel they have a voice, and making sure they are heard.  

Maria brings 22 years of financial experience to this race, including 12 years in private-sector banking, 10 years in local government, and 4 years running her own business in Concord. That experience gives her a well-rounded understanding of how budgets work, where accountability matters, and how public resources can better serve residents. 

Public Service

Maria believes public service is a privilege, not a platform. She doesn’t run to make a name for herself, but to create seats at the table for the community she so deeply cares for. Her career has focused on responsible stewardship of public resources; the essential work that is the building blocks of a strong community and a strong city. She is running because Concord is her home, and the decisions ahead deserve a council member with both the financial expertise and the heart to fight for the people she serves. 

District 1 deserves fresh leadership that is prepared for Concord’s future. Maria is ready to bring accountability, transparency, and real-world financial experience to the Concord City Council.
